BIG BROTHER UK’S GAY ROMANCE

Contestants Charlie Drummond and Rodrigo Lopez have become Big Brother UK’s first gay couple in the show’s ten year run.

Although the Big Brother house has seen numerous romances this is first time that gay love has blossomed during the reality series.

The pair shared an intimate kiss under the bed sheets yesterday, despite their constant bickering and making up. The night before the kiss, the two openly gay housemates shared a bubble bath, where Drummond shaved Lopez’s legs.

Despite having an argument during their weekly food task, where Lopez vowed to “never talk to Charlie again”, they soon made up and completed the task successfully.

Although there has never previously been a gay couple on the UK show, Big Brother’s first same-sex kiss came in the show’s eighth series when housemates Seány O’Kane and Gerry Stergiopoulos smooched during a game of truth or dare.

There have also been a number of openly gay contestants over the years, including air steward Brian Dowling in 2001; the first gay contestant to win the UK show.
