THE NANNY CALLS FOR MARRIAGE QUALITY
The Nanny actress Fran Drescher has joined other celebrities in calling for equal marriage rights in the state of New York.
Drescher appears in a video clip posted on the internet to promote the Human Rights Campaign’s (HRC) “New Yorkers for Marriage Equality” campaign.
“With a voice like this, you know that I’ve got to be a New Yorker. But I’m also an American. And to me that means justice and equality and liberty for everyone. So I support marriage equality…” says the actress.
The campaign aims to raise the public profile of same-sex marriage rights in the state ahead of the upcoming elections and next year’s anticipated legislative action to legalise marriage equality in New York.
Drescher joins others such as musician Moby, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, actress Julianne Moore and designer Kenneth Cole in the campaign.
More public figures will also support the campaign in the coming months, including acting couple Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick and comediennes Whoopi Goldberg and Joan Rivers, among others.
