APPLE NOW HEADED BY APPARENTLY GAY CEO
Following the resignation of Steve Jobs, Tim Cook has been appointed the new CEO of Apple, said to make him the most powerful gay man in Silicon Valley.
“I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come,” said Jobs, who has been plagued by ill health, in his resignation letter.
“As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple,” he added.
Apple’s board announced that it had indeed appointed Cook (50) as the company’s new head.
“The Board has complete confidence that Tim is the right person to be our next CEO,” said Art Levinson, on behalf of Apple’s Board.. “Tim’s 13 years of service to Apple have been marked by outstanding performance, and he has demonstrated remarkable talent and sound judgment in everything he does.”
Cook was previously the head of operations for the company but also ran Apple as acting CEO during Jobs’ prolonged sick leave.
Although it’s widely believed that Cook is gay, he has never publicly confirmed this. According to sources in Apple, Cook’s sexual orientation has been discussed by the company’s executives who have said that they would support and welcome his public coming out.
