Cape Town Pride 2019 Gallery 2

Our pictorial coverage of Cape Town Pride 2019 continues with our second gallery of images of the annual parade and mardi gras on Saturday 2 March.

Around 3,000 people braved the summer heat to march in the parade under this year’s theme of “I am me”, calling for full equality and celebrating LGBTQ+ identity.

After the procession wove its wave through the city’s streets, the participants gathered at the Reddam Field Mardi Gras venue.

There, many more joined in the festival atmosphere to socialise, enjoy the entertainment and express their true selves in a safe and inclusive environment. (Read our full report here.)
