MCQP (Mother City Queer Project), South Africa’s biggest themed queer party, launched Cape Town into the festive season with another dazzling celebration.

Since its debut in 1994, MCQP has become a cherished institution, celebrating queer joy and visibility while solidifying its place in the country’s vibrant LGBTQ+ legacy.

Marking its 30th edition in 2024, the “Mother of Pearl” themed event took place on 14 December at Gardens Commercial High School.

Hundreds turned out to party, adorned in pearls, showcasing glamour, fetish gear, and a stunning array of spectacular and sensual outfits.

MCQP 2024 featured four dance floors: Purgatory, The Divine, The Depth, and The Pulse, each providing a unique experience for revellers.

Didn’t make it this year? Thankfully, photographer Kyle Kingsley Green captured these evocative images of the night, provided courtesy of MCQP
