Kellan Lutz misses getting muddy with pigs

New Moon stud Kellan Lutz has revealed that despite his growing fame and sex symbol status, he’s still a farm boy at heart. In a new interview and sexy photo shoot for Interview magazine he reminisced about his grandparent’s farm in Iowa. “My mom would send me out to the pigpen, where we had these huge, huge pigs. I would stand there for six hours holding a hose, watering pigs. They’d dive in the mud and shake it off, and I’d go home covered in it. I loved the whole thing of getting wet and dirty and then getting in a warm bath,” he said. (We’d be quite willing to scrub all that mud off of him…) He also likes to play the humble star it seems, insisting that he doesn’t think he’s particularly good looking: “It’s funny when people say you have sex appeal or call you the next Brad Pitt. I just laugh. I’m not that. I don’t want to be that. It’s all very unearned. I eat what I want, and I’m not a workout fiend. My genetics are good, but they aren’t crazy He-Man style. I don’t get it, but I appreciate it.” Right…

Ellen DeGeneres’ eating secrets

While Kellan Lutz may eats what he wants, Ellen DeGeneres – dubbed this week the most powerful gay in the US (i.e. the world) – has spilled the beans about how she stays trim. It’s quite simple really, she told Shape magazine, “No cake, no cookies, no candy.” The committed vegan added “no animals, no dairy, nothing processed” to the ‘verboten’ list and said that she sticks to “a lot of soup, veggies, rice, beans, legumes.” She explained that “I want to be on my toes; I want to have energy. And as much as the diet seems like a sacrifice, it’s helping me.” Add yoga into the mix, and there’s the 52 year old’s recipe to staying healthy. “You have to make time to take care of yourself,” she commented. We couldn’t agree more, oh queen of the gays…

Whitney restarts her tour

Whitney Houston has surprised everyone by actually re-starting her world tour in the UK following a recent “upper respiratory infection.” Truth be told, most expected her to cancel the whole thing after claims that she was back on coke and following a series of disastrous performances in Australia. With the headline “Houston, we still have a problem” the Sun tabloid said that the Birmingham concert was “not the performance fans were hoping for.” The Independent was, however, more forgiving: “If tonight was the first to attempt to recreate her early zest, she did not quite make it. But it’s still an impressive voice – and you feel lucky to hear Houston live.” Whitney, who’s been slammed for being out of breath on stage, has dismissed claims of renewed drug use but InTouch quoted a witness who claims to have seen the Diva recently snort coke at the Beverly Wilshire hotel in LA: “I saw her pull a plastic bag out, put a folded bill to her nose and discreetly snort a line from it of what to me certainly looked like cocaine. She’s extremely thin and looks like a disaster. She’s a hot mess.” And there are claims that she’s been seen with her ex-husband Bobby Brown… Oh dear.

Britney Spears celebrates with the gays

Britney Spears surprised gay fans by making an appearance at the gay White Party in Palm Springs, California, last weekend. She appeared on stage, but didn’t perform, to support Swedish singer Agnes, with whom she shares a manager. “At the White Party in Palm Springs. Sooooo fun!!! About to check out Agnes,” the pop star tweeted. What was undoubtedly less fun was the recent leaking of un-doctored pictures from her photo shoot for the clothing, shoe and fragrance brand, Candie’s. When one compares the original photos with the Photoshopped version, it’s clear to see that Britney – who is the ‘face’ of the company – has had her bum lifted, cellulite removed and her bum, legs and midriff thinned out…

Jamie Foxx insists he’s not gay

Actor and singer Jamie Foxx felt it necessary to respond to comments about his sexuality from US shock jock Howard Stern. Howard said on his show: “My guess is we’re probably not on the same team. I think he’s playing for a way different team. I don’t know what team he’s on but it ain’t my team.” Jamie, who now also has his own radio show, responded: “I’m not gay… A lot of people say that I’m gay and that doesn’t bother me, because I could eat a pizza in a male shower and not feel anything because I’m secure with myself. And I’m not gonna take that, Coward Stern. I’m not gonna take that from a person who has chronic gonorrhoea.” It’s a pity that Jamie feels that being called gay is such an insult. We’d rather just call him a royal asshole… Perhaps he prefers that?

Karen Zoid – a reborn lesbian?

Afrikaans rocker Karen Zoid has reportedly returned to her lesbian ways – apparently with long time friend Carien Loubser. This after she divorced her hubby Don Reinecke, who used to play the guitar in her band (we guess he’s out on his ear now). While Karen’s been known, within the music industry at least, to have had relationships with women it’s interesting to speculate why the local media has been so keen on letting the world know about it (we’re talking about you Heat and Media24) without Karen actually coming out. There are a stack of other very well-known but closeted local performers who seem to have escaped the media glare on their personal life for years. “If Karen is gay, she should just come out and say it,” said Channel 24’s Jean-Marie Korff. “She’s a role model, who could inspire many people to be frank about their sexual preferences. A definite win-win situation for human rights… and gossip sites.” Do you agree?

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have released the latest ads for their new underwear line, featuring five Italian national football squad hunks. “Footballers are the epitome of beauty. There’s no denying they’re the true icons of today. Young, virile men with healthy-looking, athletic physiques, sculpted by intensive daily training and, above all, by discipline,” Domenico told Chi magazine. “They are real gods and true role models both on the pitch and in everyday life,” added Stefano. Jared Leto goes pink

30 Seconds to Mars front man and occasional actor Jared Leto has surprised fans by donning a new do – a pink mohawk. The singer made the transition to pink after first dying his locks blonde and not liking the results very much. “You’re too fucking blonde!” he tweeted, and the next day was spotted with the mohawk, which he described as “A new beginning…”
