Paris’ new boy

Former jailbird Paris Hilton has been spotted with a new man in tow. And what a looker he is. Going by the rather exotic name of Alexander von Zweigbergk Väggö, we don’t really know much about him other than that he is Swedish, 20 years old and is, of course, a model. Actually we also know that he is 1.85 metres tall, wears a size 11.5 shoe (gulp) and has brown hair and blue eyes. We at Mamba Mansions are also rather in awe of those bow-shaped lips…

Katherine won’t marry without her gay pal

Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl is set to marry singer Josh Kelley just before Christmas on 23 December, but, according to reports, she won’t tie the knot without her gay pal, co-star and best friend T.R. Knight, at her side. Apparently Katherine insisted that the wedding date be moved to accommodate T.R’s work schedule. That’s true fag-hag loyalty for ya!

George Michael removed from doccie

Chronic dope-head George Michael’s appearance in a documentary about HIV has been removed at the singer’s request. Perhaps he was a tad embarrassed? In the doccie, titled Stephen Fry: HIV and Me, narrator Stephen Fry asks George when he last took an HIV test. Always, a fine role model, the singer replies that he hasn’t had one since 2004 because he’s worried about the results. According to the pop star’s camp however the reason for dropping out of the film was that the doccie delved too deeply into the singer’s life. George lost one of his great loves, Anselmo Feleppa, to AIDS related complications in 1995. “On reflection, he felt it was too close and too personal a journey. It was too personal for Anselmo’s family to revisit,” a spokesperson for George told the BBC. The doccie also features Andy Bell from Erasure and Ana Matronic from the Scissor Sisters.

Britney parties in the face of disaster

Facing losing her children because of her continued drug use, even after spending time in rehab, Britney Spears seems determined to not let anything get her down – especially not reality. Fresh from her possibly career-killing performance at the recent MTV Video Music Awards, the panty-phobic singer has been spotted partying hard at various Hollywood nightclubs. We would have thought that she’d be on her best behaviour after a judge ruled on Monday that she will have to undergo drug tests twice a week to continue to keep custody of her children. Britney has also been ordered to spend time with a ‘parenting coach’. This week also saw her lose her lawyer who resigned because of her erratic behaviour and refusal to listen to advice. In response to the much-maligned performance at the Music Video Awards, singer Tori Amos performed a song in Britney’s honour at a concert in Australia. The lyrics go like this…

Britney, they set you up

But you drank from their cup

Britney, they set you up

Oh, but this is what it looks like, love,

This is what is looks like

When a star falls down

When a star falls down

Well, maybe you’re a mother

But you still need your mother

Yes, I may be a mother

But I still need a mother

To pick me up

Yes, to pick me up

When it all falls down

When it all falls down

Britney, they set you up

Is your contract winding up?

But you drank from the cup

Boy, this is what it looks like

Yes, I said, this is, this is what it looks like, Disney, yes

When a star falls down

When a star falls down

You may be a mother

Baby, you still need a mother

Yes, I may be a mother

But I still need a mother

To pick me up

Yes, to pick me up

When it all falls down

When it all falls down

When it all falls, all falls down

When it all falls down

Sex And The City movie in full swing

Yay! We’re VERY pleased to hear that production on the much anticipated Sex And The City movie is well under way in New York. The first official on-set picture has just been released, featuring Carrie and Mr Big. In related news, it’s been announced that the Oscar winning star of Dreamgirls, Jennifer Hudson, has been cast in the film. Jennifer will be playing Sarah Jessica Parker’s assistant. To be honest, we don’t remember Carrie having an assistant, but why quibble; we can’t wait for this one!

Sean Penn to play gay politician

In other casting news, former Mr Madonna Sean Penn has signed on to play Harvey Milk, the real life openly gay San Francisco politician who was murdered in 1978. The film is being helmed by My Own Private Idaho director Gus Van Sant. It’s rumoured that Matt Damon may take on the role of Milk’s killer. Apparently Superman Returns director Bryan Singer also has his own Harvey Milk film planned. The more the merrier we say!

Gay Desperate Housewives couple make first appearance

While there were outlandish rumours that the first gay couple on Wisteria Lane would be played by none other than David Beckham and Robbie Williams, the real actors are a little less stellar. US show Access Hollywood broadcast an interview and the first images of the two actors – Tuc Watkins and Kevin Rahm – on the set of Desperate Housewives. In the interview Watkins said, “I don’t know why it took so long to bring a gay couple onto this street. It seems natural for this couple or a couple like us to have been here.”
